SCALE

This scale is an essential tool in my kitchen not only for bread making but also for other stuff. I weigh ingredients and the loaves.

  • It can measure up to 8kg.
  • Modes: g, kg, lb:oz, oz, lb.
  • It has the famous Baker’s Percentage function.
  • Programmable auto-off feature.

BUY IT: Kitchen Scale – Bakers Math Kitchen Scale – KD8000 Scale by My Weight, Silver

STAND MIXER

A must-have tool in every kitchen. I use it for kneading dough when I make bread. It used by my wife for mixing ingredients when she makes sweets ( I only eat them).

  • It is very powerful.
  • You can add a lot of attachments to it like food grinder, pasta maker, food processor
  • It includes a dough hook (very useful for bread makers), flat beater and wire whip.

BUY IT: KitchenAid KSM150PSCU Artisan Series 5-Qt. Stand Mixer with Pouring Shield – Contour Silver

THERMOMETER

I use it to determine when my bread is ready. It is important to know the internal temperature of your bread. Also useful when you cook meat.

BUY IT: Taylor Precision Products Splash-Proof Dual Temperature Infrared/Thermocouple Thermometer

In my opinion, the thermometer doesn’t have to be expensive. You can also buy a cheap one like this.

SCORING LAME

It is very important to score the bread before placing it in the oven. It will look nice and it will allow the gases to escape and you will not end up with an ugly bread. You can use a normal knife but it will not cut the dough very well.

PIZZA STONE

I have two of these in my oven. I like to bake my loaves and pizza on the stone (with a parchment paper over the stone – easier to clean).

BUY IT: Old Stone Oven Rectangular Pizza Stone

PARCHMENT PAPER

A must-have in any kitchen.

BUY IT: Beyond Gourmet Unbleached Non-Stick Parchment Paper, Made in Sweden

SILICONE MAT

Put this over the counter and form your loaves on it. Easy to clean.

BUY IT: Non-slip Silicone Dough Rolling Mat

DOUGH SCRAPER AND CUTTER

Good for portioning dough.

BUY IT: OXO Good Grips Multi-purpose Stainless Steel Scraper & Chopper

BOWL SCRAPER

Good for scraping and manipulating the sticky bread dough.

BUY IT: Ateco 1303 Bowl Scraper Set, 6-Pieces, Flexible Food-safe Plastic

BANNETON (PROOFING BASKET)

BUY IT (round): DOYOLLA Round Banneton

BUY IT (oval): DOYOLLA Set of 2 10inch Oval Shaped Banneton

COOLING RACK

BUY IT: Tebery 4 Pack Cooling Racks Baking Rack – 16″ x 10″

SOURDOUGH STARTER CONTAINER

If you bake sourdough bread then it is a must to have a nice jar with lid for your starter. My starter has a name so it has to have her own little house.

BUY IT: Bormioli Rocco Fido Square Jaw with Blue Lid, 25-¼-Ounce

LOAF PAN

I don’t use this as much but from time to time is very useful.

BUY IT: AmazonBasics Nonstick Carbon Steel Baking Bread Pan, 9.5 x 5 Inch, Set of 2

BREAD CUTTING KNIFE

A must-have in every home.

BUY IT: PAUDIN Ultra Sharp Serrated Knife 8 (German High Carbon Stainless Stee)
